How do you pick up the pieces without the glue holding everything together??
Synopsis: Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, would like nothing more than to be nothing alike. Morgan is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did. By getting pregnant and married at a young age. Morgan put her own dreams on hold. Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Her predictable mother doesn’t have a spontaneous bone in her body.
The only person who can bring peace to the house is her husband Chris. When out of no where their lives become changed forever, they find it difficult to coexist.
My Review: I felt bad for Morgan I’m so many ways, she feels trapped in her marriage, her husband Chris, doesn’t want her to work or anything. She’s already put her dreams of going to college on hold, so Chris could go to college and become a very successful doctor.
They had Clara when they were very young,they got married, and yes Chris stepped up to the plate to take care of them both. Morgan felt trapped incase something happened to Chris she’d have no back up for her and Clara.
Her sister Jenny has had a on and off relationship with Jonah, who took off to live with his sister the day after he found out Morgan was pregnant. Jonah dated Jenny at the time, but he was in love with Morgan someone he’d never be able to be with now.
Then one day Morgan & Jonah both get a call saying that Chris and Jenny were in a car wreck. Emotions run high as they sit there trying to figure out why the two were even together in the first place.
All there lives are changed forever, Jonah is left taking care of Elijah, which is Jenny and his son who is only months old. Morgan is left trying to be the best mother she can to Clara. Clara, becomes rebellious, and hates her mother.
As time goes on, more secrets are unfolded, the love that Jonah has had for Clara for 16 years comes to a head.
Why were Chris and Jenny together? Is Jonah really the father to Elijah? Will Morgan and Jonah explore their feelings? Will Clara find out what her mother and Jonah are trying to keep from her??
This book was a great, fast paced read. I have recently found this author and have enjoyed the books I have read by her thus far.
